A Hazardous Affection

I lay against these

softly piercing

blades

like lionfish

spines.

Poisoning my senses

with a vicious

and passionate

desire.

To settle here

within this pappi

filled utopia.

Next thing

I knew I was

eyeing the sticky

sky blazing

a green hue.

Tasting as dangerous

as Japanese Fugu,

playing the game of life or death.

The wind's speed

shatters the earth's

sturdy blades.

Drenching this

safe-haven with

heavy daggers

penetrating the ground.

Thunder shouting back

to its lighting attempting

to disrupt my relationship.

And I still remain

within this field

like a rose that blooms

perennially

no matter the season.
